The Rocky Mountains near El Paso, Texas USA. Taken from my front yard in New Mexico close to the Texas state line. Cotton fields in the foreground, waiting to be planted.

Your mountains are beautiful Sharon.
It must be great to have such beautiful sunsets in your yard.

(Yes I am back looking at this again, in my defense it is only the third time in an hour)
Seriously though:
The two very distinct tones you have captured from left to right, as if they have been painted in are remarkable in themselves.
The single ray of light on the right cuts in two what would otherwise be a tiny bit flat and gives it depth.
The way that ray of light draws the eye up and around the branches that you have framed the image with so that you loop back and across the incredible colour of those mountains once again, against the seemingly wine dark land in the foreground and the equally immaculate central triangle of light in the center (a house?).
The composition and timing is brilliant.
To me the framing made by the branches across the top, the curve that starts with the cloud at the right hand side and slides seamless across the branch to the right, (dark to prepare the eye for that wine coloured foreground of course) and simply the bottom right corner of the picture (your eye has to stop somewhere right? Otherwise you'd never stop devouring it) all of this forms the shape of a heart to me so I guess you love your mountains the way that they love you right?

Look at me I've gone all gushy - what I am mean to say is "yeah well it's kinda ok I guess".

Gushy, you bet it's ok! Thank you so much for your kind words. I have never had such feelings protrayed through your words. It's my own picture and you made me look at it in a whole different way! Yes, I adore my mountains and to be able to capture a moment in time sooths my soul for I can alway look at them at any time I want, with all different kinds of weather. I am humbled with your statements and appreciate it more than you will ever know. At first I didn't notice the beam of light for it is so faint,so you are an unusal person to pick up on so many details. I hope to remain DA friends and learn from you. Thank you for the Watch and I hope not to let you down. Thank you very very much for your time.:):):)

"I hope to remain DA friends and learn from you. Thank you for the Watch and I hope not to let you down. Thank you very very much for your time." my thoughts as well, part of my 3D journey is learning about photographic composition. Speaking of which I have things to do other than sit and stare glassy eyed at this ;)
